In a market where the majority of developers have been forced to ‘down tools’, Spencer Holdings, an investment refurbishment and regeneration specialist, celebrated the launch of Pimbo Point and Pikelaw Place, two large manufacturing/warehousing facilities located on Pimbo estate in Skelmersdale. The event was attended by The Mayor of West Lancashire, Cllr Geoff Roberts who was guided through the refurbishment processes by Chairman of Spencer Holdings, James Spencer.
Industrial agents from Liverpool and Manchester’s leading firms attended the launch held on the 5th November where they enjoyed breakfast, a prize draw and were presented with firework selection boxes to ensure their day went with a bang.
The launch focussed on two of three sites that Spencer Holdings owns in Skelmersdale. Pimbo Point consists of a 103,573 sq ft manufacturing warehouse, which features two acres of yard and is available as it stands or from 23,556 sq ft.
Pikelaw Place, extends to 77,356 sq ft, features three new dock level access loading doors and has a huge 6,000 KVA electrical supply. Both sites are situated on the Pimbo estate in Skelmersdale with nearby access to Junction 5 of the M57, in turn providing excellent access to the M6. In addition to the two recently launched sites, Spencer Holdings also owns a third site in Skelmersdale. Glebe Park, a 23,470 sq ft unit with a two acre yard, situated on Glebe Road on the Gillibrands Estate.
The refurbishments at Pimbo Point and Pikelaw Place were undertaken by Greenbrook Construction, Spencer Holdings’ in-house development team. Company Director and Project Manager Jonathan Halfpenny, commented that efficient design and the use of sustainable materials, are some of the key reasons behind Spencer’s reputation for producing outstanding developments. “Sustainability is a major consideration in modern development, in our refurbishment of Pimbo Point, all of the cladding, including the old asbestos roof, were completely removed and replaced with double skin insulated profile cladding, drastically improving the efficiency and lifespan of the building’’.
The redevelopments are suitable for a range of occupiers and have been specifically designed to offer maximum flexibility.
